ADAM Quartet Performs Dvořák and Gabriella Smith
During his time abroad, Dvořák gave an important boost to classical music in the United States. His beloved American String Quartet is therefore a natural fit for this program about American art. Interspersed with talks on the subject, the ADAM Quartet will also perform the exhilarating Carrot Revolution by young composer Gabriella Smith.
From Gregorian chant to Celtic folk songs and much more, Carrot Revolution is a vibrant, eclectic work in which Smith makes unexpected connections. It is exactly the kind of piece in which the ADAM Quartet thrives: the ensemble is never afraid to venture beyond the boundaries of the standard repertoire.
